About Us

The Teresa Lane Compton (TLC) Memorial Wig Closet was founded in 2010 by Ashley Lerblance and her daughter, Lexie (Lerblance) Flanagan. Ashley was diagnosed with breast cancer and took chemotherapy, as a result, she lost her hair. When Ashley started looking for wigs for her hair loss, she was disappointed to not be able to find any in the area. After travel, money spent, and lack of support and education, she and her daughter decided to create a safe haven for people going through cancer that are experiencing hair loss.

Ashley and Lexie created the TLC Wig Closet to bring resources to cancer patients in Pittsburg County and the surrounding areas. The TLC Wig Closet is by appointment only, so that each person can meet with a trained volunteer one-on-one.

The TLC Wig Closet provides FREE wigs and other head coverings to cancer patients. The TLC Wig Closet’s main goal is to help people with one of the most devastating side effects from chemotherapy treatment, hair loss. Although temporary, it can be overwhelming!

Teresa Lane Compton

The TLC Wig Closet is named after Ashley’s late mother, Teresa Lane Compton. She was a humble woman who would never have asked for the Wig Closet to be named after her. Ashley and Lexie think that the TLC Wig Closet couldn’t have a better namesake. She was a hairdresser who took pride in her work and making people look and feel beautiful. Our hope is that the TLC Wig Closet honors her memory by helping people in our community
